Mirrorblade, Drifter Sword (JRV-006)
Question: If I control exactly one resonator, does it fulfil the [Outnumber] requirements?
Answer: No. We have updated [Outnumber], as prior to Mirrorblade, there were no entities other than J/resonators with [Outnumber]. So, you still need to control two resonators, and more resonators than your opponent.
Question: If after triggering the automatic ability of Mirrorblade while being added to a resonator, it stops being added to added to that resonator, are the ATK/DEF modifications still active?
Answer: No. Even if the ability is active as long as the resonator and the regalia are in the field, the requirements (“of added resonator”) for the continuous effects won’t be fulfilled if the regalia is not added to the resonator, and, if that happens, the [ATK/DEF] bonus won’t be granted.
Demonic Glyph of Insidious Pride (JRV-014)
Question: If I control “Eternal Pact with Amon”, and while playing a copy of this card I want X to be “2”, so I can benefit from this card’s “You pay [2] less to play this card.” ability, how much will will it produce after resolving?
Answer: The effect of this card says “produce will equal to the will spent to play this card”, and by paying [2] less to play the card, you did not actually spend those [2]. So, assuming that you have paid the full specific cost of this card, it will produce [R][R].
Diabolos’ Abyssal Dreadswarm (JRV-049)
Question: If I control this card, can I play a warden process of a wind warden card any time I could play a card with [Quickcast]?
Answer: No. The correct reading of this card (and any other card with similar syntax) is:
You may play {warden processes and willpower abilities} of {darkness Demonic wardens} any time you could play a card with [Quickcast].
To answer “Yes” to this question, the syntax should be:
You may play {willpower abilities} of {darkness Demonic wardens} and {warden processes} any time you could play a card with [Quickcast].
Nomadic Trailbound Mistress (JRV-063)
Question: Under the new syntax of will abilities, is the ability that produces wills of this card a will ability?
Answer: We have updated the will ability rules, with a better explanation of what is a will ability and what is not, making it easier. Check an extract of the new CR update about the will abilities:
- If the (Effect) of any activate ability begins with “Perform the following effect”, ignore all text before the “-“ symbol while checking if the ability is a will ability.
- Activate abilities of non-magic stones can be will abilities, but those abilities should not have additional text other than: how much will is produced, or what to spend that will for, or how many times the ability can be played, or when to play the ability (Ex. timing or conditions), or when the will ceases to exist.
So, yes, the activate ability of this card is a will ability.
Ravidra, the Forgotten City (JRV-099)
Question: If this card is put into a graveyard from the magic stone deck, will it trigger its automatic ability whose trigger condition is “When this card is put into a graveyard”?
Answer: No. As it doesn’t specify the area it should be in to trigger the ability, it triggers only in the field. To make this trigger from the magic stone deck, we would use either “When this card is put into a graveyard from anywhere” or “When this card is put into a graveyard from the field or a magic stone deck”.
Question: If I control a Ravidra, the Forgotten City, and while calling a stone I put a second copy of this card into the field, can I float will chasing the «Mythic» trigger?
Answer: No. «Mythic» is no longer an automatic ability, but a rule process.
Sacred Columns of Uruk (JRV-100)
Question: If I play and resolve the activate ability of this card whose cost is “[W] or [R]” multiple times, will this card gain [Defiant] (2) multiple times?
Answer: We have updated the “become” rules, as it was not clear what “become”, “gain”, and “lose” was, with the most recent syntax. Check an extract of the new CR update about the “become” rules:
- If a card "becomes" a type or race, it loses its original type or race accordingly, unless the effect text specifically mentions keeping the original type or race.
- If a card "becoming" a type or race, includes keyword abilities, keywords, or abilities, then consider that the card now has those keyword abilities, keywords, and abilities, and no longer has the keyword abilities, keywords, and abilities it had before (unless specified). This is not considered “gaining” those keyword abilities, keywords or abilities, or “losing” the keyword abilities, keywords or abilities it no longer has.
So, no, no matter how many times you play and resolve the activate ability of Sacred Columns of Uruk, it won’t gain [Defiant] (2) multiple times.
