Question: If I control Blade of
Dimensional Fire and Academy Guard of Lykeion, if my opponent plays a resonator
spell and the automatic ability <Severing Flame> targets it and
resolves, what will happen?
Answer: As rule 104.2. says, when a
mandatory effect instructs you to do something, and part of it is impossible to
do, you do any part of the effect that you can legally do. So, if there are no
effects that would stop you from removing target spell from the game, you
remove the chosen target from the game. The next part of the effect (playing
the card from the removed area) is impossible to do because of the effect of
Academy Guard of Lykeion, so it is not performed at all. So, the chosen target
will be put into its owner’s removed area and will remain in there.

Question: If I control the sub-ruler Blade
of Dimensional Fire, can I play Space-Time Pursuer, Gill Lapis by paying only
its specified cost?
Answer: As Space-Time Pursuer, Gill Lapis
is a fire Wanderer spell, yes, you do. Actually, you must do, because that
ability of Blade of Dimensional Fire is a base ability directly modifying the
printed cost of fire Wanderer spells and darkness Wanderer spells. So e.g.
Muse’s Staring at… could not stop it from resolving, as you are paying the
“non-reduced cost modified by its base ability” of Space-Time Pursuer, Gill
Lapis.
You would
still have to pay three will to play Interdimensional Monarch, Gill Lapis,
because it is a darkness Monarch spell, not a darkness Wanderer spell.
